A memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed between University of the Assumption College of Engineering and Architecture (UA-CEA) and Social Action Center of Pampanga (SACOP) on August 26, 2016 for collaboration on social development projects.
Under the agreement, CEA faculty of engineers and architects will provide assistance in evaluating SACOP’s low-cost housing project for the poor in Magalang, Pampanga.
The agreement is part of the existing memorandum of understanding (MoU) between UA and SACOP to strengthen ties in the areas of research, development and extension services.
In the MoA, CEA will assume the “producer of research” role in support of the social development program of the archdiocese. The researches and evaluation findings will serve as baseline information that will be used by SACOP for decision-making, planning and reforms.
Part also of the agreement is SACOP’s accommodation of CEA students as trainees in the construction project where they could apply and practice the theories learned inside the classroom.
The MoA was signed by UA President, Fr. Joselito Henson and SACOP Executive Director, Fr. Kenneth Alde.
