University of the Assumption ranked 27 th among the 271 Philippine universities in the July 2016 edition of Spanish National Research Council Webometrics, a research organization that ranks universities based on their web presence and impact.
According to Webometrics, the ranking is compiled from reliable prestigious open data sources. Rankings were also based on the quality and usefulness of contents published in university websites and the data generated from search engines.
Mr. Jaime Orlanda of UA Center for Information Technologies and Laboratories (CITL) clarified that the ranking measures the performance of the websites of the different universities worldwide in terms of visibility and its adherence to excellence.
Webometrics is the largest web ranking of higher educational Institutions. Every six months, the organization conducts a scientific exercise to provide information on the web presence of universities in the world.
In February, UA landed on the 42 nd place inching its way up to rank 27 in July.
