  • The University of the Assumption (UA) shall admit applicants to an undergraduate program based on the following criteria:

    • College Entrance Test (CET)

      • Applicants must pass the battery of tests (mental ability and aptitude tests) administered by the Guidance and Admissions Office.
      • Applicants in programs with board examination must obtain a Stanine of 4 or higher in the CET.
      • UA high school graduates, applicants from other schools who belong to the upper ten percent (10%) of the graduating class and degree holders are exempted from taking the CET.
    • Academic Performance

      Academic Performance

      • Freshmen applicants must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 80% and above.
      • Applicants for board programs must belong to the upper forty percent (40%) of the high school graduating class as certified by the High School Principal.
      • For transfer applicants, official transcript of records obtained from previous school must show satisfactory academic performance, with no failing marks in courses related to the program they intend to apply for in the University.
    • Interview

      Interview

      Freshmen applicants, transfer applicants and degree holders must satisfactorily pass the interview conducted by the respective college dean, Prefect of Discipline and the Director for Student Affairs.

    Note: An applicant who meets at least two of the three abovementioned requirements, may be admitted on academic probation subject to the discretion of the Committee on Admissions (Admission Director, Dean, Director for Student Affairs, University Registrar).

      All foreign student applicants should see the Liaison-in-charge at the Office of the University Registrar for the admission requirements (see Appendix 1, Guidelines on Admission of Foreign Students).

    Special Requirements

    Besides the admission requirements specified under Section 1.2,
    applicants belonging to the categories listed below, must undergo an interview and/or spiritual counseling with the Campus Ministry Director prior to their admission to the University:

    • Non-Catholics
    • Baptized non-Catholics
    • Unconfirmed Catholics
    • Catholics with uncertain married status

    Non-Catholics and Catholics with uncertain marital status may be admitted, provided they sign and comply with the agreement set by the Campus Ministry Director. A periodic follow-up by the Prefect of Discipline shall be done to determine the applicants’ compliance with the signed agreement.

    • For College Freshmen

      For College Freshmen

      • All freshmen applicants fill out the Application Form downloadable from http://site.ua.edu.ph/downloadable-forms/. A copy of the Application Form may also be obtained from the Guidance and Admissions Office (GAO) or from the guidance counselor in the student applicant’s respective high school.
      • Applicants request their High School Guidance Counselor or Class Adviser he Recommendation Form to fill out the Recommendation Form. The Recommendation Form may be downloaded from http://site.ua.edu.ph/downloadable-forms/ or secured from the GAO or from the guidance counselor in the applicant’s high school.
      • Applicants submit the filled out Application Form and Recommendation Form to the GAO.
      • Applicants pay the Testing Fee at the Finance Office, 2nd floor of Ryan Building. The Official Receipt (OR) is kept for record purposes.
      • Applicants present the Official Receipt to the GAO. They are informed at the GAO of the schedule of the College Entrance Test. They take and satisfactorily pass the CET as scheduled by the Guidance and Admissions Office.
      • Applicants are informed by the GAO of the CET result and the schedule of personal interview by the Dean, Prefect of Discipline and the Director of Student Affairs.
      • Applicants submit the admission requirements to the GAO.
      • Applicants secure their Student Numbers from the GAO.
      • Applicants proceed to the CITL (Center for Information Technology and Laboratories) for the activation of student number.
    • For Transferees and Degree Holders

      For Transferees and Degree Holders

      • Transferee applicants and Degree holders present the following documents to the UA Guidance and Admissions Office (GAO):
        • True Copy of Grades
        • Certificate of Eligibility to Transfer
      • Applicants proceed to the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) for the interview and evaluation of subjects taken.
      • Applicants proceed to the Dean of the program applied for for the validation of credited subjects.
      • Applicants proceed back to the OUR for the finalization of credited subjects and the issuance of the Document Checklist.
      • Applicants proceed tothe GAO and submit the document checklist for the issuance of the Application form and Recommendation form. Applicants submit the filled out Application Form and Recommendation Form to the GAO.
      • Applicants pay the Testing Fee to the Cashier at the Finance Office, 2nd floor of Ryan Building. The Official Receipt (OR) should be kept by the applicants for record purposes.
      • Applicants present the OR to the GAO and get College Entrance Test (CET) schedule or take the CET on the same day. Applicants go to the GAO to get the CET result and for the personal interview.
      • Applicants submit the to GAO.
      • Applicants secure the Student Number from the GAO.
      • Applicants have the Student Number activated at the CITL.
    • Returnees

      Returnees

      • Returnee applicants proceed to the Guidance and Admissions Office for an interview with the Director for Guidance and Admissions/Guidance Counselor of the student’s program. Secure the Returnee Form.
      • Applicants accomplish the Returnee Form (quadruplicate – GAO Director, Dean, University Registrar, Student). Seek the signature of the GAO Director in the form after the interview.
      • Applicants proceed to the Dean for interview and approval of application. Seek the Dean’s signature in the form.
      • Applicants proceed to the University Registrar for interview and approval of application. Seek the Registrar’s signature in the form.
      • Applicants proceed to the Director for Student Affairs for interview and approval of application Seek the DSA’s signature in the form.
      • Applicants proceed to the Office of the University Registrar for the evaluation of subjects taken and advisement of subjects to enroll for the incoming semester.
      • Applicants proceed to the Dean’s Office for the validation of the evaluation of subjects taken and advisement
      • Applicants submit the approved form (quadruplicate) to the GAO Director. The Dean’s copy and Registrar’s copy shall be submitted to the Dean and Registrar upon enrollment. The returnee shall keep the student’s copy of the approved form for record purposes.
    • For Foreign Students

      For Foreign Students

      Foreign students who seek admission in the University are required of the following:

      Application for the College Entrance Test (CET)
      Submit to the GAO a duly accomplished Application form for the CET and the confidential recommendation form accomplished by previous school officials/faculty
      Application fee
      Settle the non-refundable application fee at the Finance Office to cover expenses for the application process and the CET.
      Official Transcript of Records
      Submit two (2) copies of the Official Transcript of Records (translated in English) duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post, Embassy or Consulate in the applicant’s country of origin or legal residence.
      Original Personal History Statement (PHS)
      Submit six (6) copies of the PHS duly accomplished and signed by the applicant, accompanied by personal seal, if any, with original left and right hand thumb prints and pictures.
      Police Clearance
      Submit a police clearance issued by the National Police Office duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post, Embassy or Consulate in the applicants’ country of origin or legal residence.
      Notarized Affidavit of Support from parents and proof adequate financial support (Bank Certificate)
      Submit a Bank certificate duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post, Embassy or Consulate in the applicants’ country of origin or legal residence.
      Original and Photocopies of the Passport
      Present the original passport and submit six (6) copies of passport pages where name, photo, birth date and birth place appear.
      Original and Photocopies of the Birth Certificate
      Present the original birth certificate and two (2) photocopies of the birth certificate.
      Photos
      Submit four (4) copies of 1 1⁄2 X 1 1⁄2 colored photographs on plain white background, taken not more than six months prior to submission for application and enrollment purposes.
